1. Platform usage
Want To Buy is a buyer-first marketplace where buyers post buy orders for trading cards and sellers compete to fulfil them. You must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate account information, and use the platform in good faith. You may not use the platform to harass other users, manipulate pricing, evade fees, communicate off-platform to circumvent buyer protection, or post buy orders for items prohibited by law.
2. Buy orders and offers
Buyers may post buy orders with a public target price and optional hidden auto-accept / max ceiling values. Offers are binding for sellers — submitting an offer is a commitment to ship the card at the offered price if accepted within the offer's validity window. Acceptance creates a transaction that triggers payment to be held securely by Stripe.
3. Payments and held funds
All payments are processed and held securely by Stripe, a regulated payment processor. Funds are not released to the seller until the buyer confirms receipt or the auto-release window (72 hours after confirmed delivery) closes without an open dispute. The platform fee is described on the Fees page.
4. Dispute resolution
Buyers have 14 days from confirmed delivery to open a formal dispute. A continuous buyer unboxing video showing the sealed package and shipping label before opening is mandatory to open any dispute regardless of transaction value. Seller card photos are strongly recommended on every order and mandatory for transactions over $5,000 USD (with a packing video also strongly recommended at that tier). Orders with no seller photos that result in disputes will be resolved in the buyer's favour. Disputes are reviewed by Want To Buy admins, who may resolve in favour of either party, request more evidence, or split the resolution. Dispute outcomes may add strikes to the losing party's account as described in the Rating & Strike Policy.
5. Privacy & message monitoring
We collect only the information needed to operate the platform: account credentials, payment routing information held by Stripe, transaction records, and dispute evidence. We do not sell user data to third parties. Public profiles display username, country (country-level only), TCG specialisations, ratings, and aggregate trade counts. Identity verification documents collected for fraud prevention (see Seller Policy) are stored encrypted and accessed only by Trust & Safety personnel.
Admin access to private messages. All private messages sent between members on Want To Buy are stored securely and may be accessed by Want To Buy administrators and moderators for the purposes of investigating policy violations, resolving disputes, detecting fraud, and enforcing platform rules. By creating an account you consent to this monitoring. Every admin who opens a thread generates an internal audit log entry to prevent misuse of this access.
6. Account termination
You may delete your account at any time from the Account settings page; deletion is reversible within 30 days, after which it becomes permanent. Want To Buy may suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these terms, the Seller Policy, or the Rating & Strike Policy. Permanent bans for counterfeit / misrepresented cards or for circumventing a prior ban are final and not subject to appeal.
7. Disclaimers
Want To Buy facilitates transactions but is not a party to the underlying sale of cards between buyer and seller. We provide buyer protection through held funds, verification, and dispute moderation, but make no warranty regarding the condition, authenticity, or grading of any specific card beyond the verification steps described on the platform.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; material changes are communicated at least 30 days in advance via email and on-platform notification.
9. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the province of Quebec, Canada. Any disputes arising from use of the platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Quebec courts.
